Physical Components

Connectivity

This document assumes the availability of a HPE Apollo r2600 Gen 10 chassis with two blades model ProLiant XL190r Gen10 connected to an independent switch without external connectivity.

Requirements:

  • It is necessary to connect one NIC for each node.
  • Each node must have two SSD disks with RAID 1 for the operating system and some SSD disks for the virtual machines.
  • Burn the ISO installer file to SD Card.


Network


Users

User accounts needed to access to iLo:

  • Create a customer profile user with administrator rights.
  • Customer profile password: last eight digits of the chassis serial number (not the node serial number).
  • Create a partner profile user with administrator rights.
  • Partner profile password: last eight digits of the chassis serial number (not the node serial number).
  • User: administrator password: FlexxConsole25!


Disk Provisioning

This appliance counts with eight slots and six disks for each node. The Smart Array controller manages all disks.

ATTENTION! The system disks must be plugged in slots #1 and #2 for each node. Normally the system disks are 240GB capacity. The data disks must be plugged in the four following slots for each node.

Note: The rest of the slots are not used.

BIOS Configuration

The BIOS must have these settings configured for firmware 3.2.0.29 or earlier:

  • Date and time correctly set
  • SATA controller set in RAID mode.
  • SATA controller mode: EFI.
  • A RAID 1 volume created.
  • All disk marked as Solid State Drives.
  • UEFI boot mode configured.
  • BIOS version U38 1.42
  • iLo: iLo 5 Firmware Revision 1.35
  • Hyperthreading enabled.
  • Fan set to full speed.
  • IPMI IP addresses:
  • Node A: 192.168.50.53 / mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.50.1
  • Node B: 192.168.50.54 / mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.50.1

ATTENTION! We must create a RAID 1 volume to install the system.
