The operation can't be completed because the surrogate for HA hypervisor '{lTemplate.RelatedHyperVCluster.PublicName}' is in Error status ({lTemplateCluster.ErrorDescription}).

When upgrading a VM to the latest template version, if the VM is hosted in an HA hypervisor different than the template, a surrogate is used to update the VM catalog’s base disk with the new template version. This message is displayed if the template surrogate is in red in the template’s detail view “Datacenter replicas” tab, indicating that the upgrade can’t be performed because the surrogate in that HA Hypervisor is in error status and is not trustable for the operation.

Before trying again to upgrade the VM template the creation of the surrogate should be attempted again. If the creation of the surrogate continues to fail, it could indicate an incorrect configuration, a transient problem, or a bug in the VM Manager. An administrator troubleshooting or manual delete of the affected surrogate is advised.
