Physical Components

Connectivity

The document assumes that two (2) HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen 10 servers are available and connected to an independent switch without external connectivity.

Requirements:

  • It is necessary to connect four NICs to each node (Base-T or SFP+).
  • Each node must have two SSD disks with RAID 1 for the operating system and some SSDs for the virtual machines.
  • Burn the ISO installer file to SD Card.

ATTENTION! You will need to connect four NIC’s to each node (Base-T or SFP+) with interfaces UP before starting the deployment.

 

Users

Users to access to iLo:

  • Create customer profile user with administrator rights.
  • Customer profile password: last eight digits of the server serial number.
  • Create partner profile user with administrator rights.
  • Partner profile password: last eight digits of the server serial number.
  • User: administrator password: FlexxConsole25!


Disk Provisioning

This appliance counts with eight (8) disk slots for each node. The Smart Array controller manages all disks.

ATTENTION! System disks must be plugged in slots #1 and #2 of each node and the data disks must be plugged in any slot from the number 3 on. The system disks normally has a 240 GB capacity.


BIOS Configuration

The BIOS must have these settings configured with firmware 3.2.0.29 or earlier:

  • Date and time correctly set
  • SATA controller set in RAID mode.
  • SATA controller mode: EFI.
  • A RAID 1 volume created.
  • All disks marked as Solid State Drives.
  • Configure UEFI boot mode.
  • BIOS version U38 1.42
  • iLo: iLo 5 Firmware Revision 1.20
  • Hyperthreading enabled.
  • Fan set to full speed.
  • IPMI IP addresses:
  • Node A: 192.168.50.53 / mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.50.1
  • Node B: 192.168.50.54 / mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.50.1

Power on Appliance and Press F9 Key for enter System Utilities:

Enter Sytem configuration:

Enter HPE Smart Array P408i-p SR Gen10:

ATTENTION! We must create a RAID 1 volume to install the system.
