Physical Components

Connectivity

This document assumes the availability of two DELL PowerEdge R640 servers connected to an independent switch without external connectivity.

Requirements:

  • It is necessary to connect four NIC’s to each node (Base-T or SFP+)
  • Each node must have two M.2 SSD with RAID 1 for the operating system and some SSDs for the virtual machines.
  • Burn the ISO installer file to SD Card.

Please, you must follow these graphs for the following configurations:

ATTENTION! You should connect four NICs to each node (Base-T or SFP+) with the UP interfaces before start the deployment.

 

Users

Users to access to iDrac:

  • Create a customer profile user with administrator rights.
  • Customer profile password: last eight server’s serial number digits.
  • Create a partner profile user with administrator rights.
  • Partner profile password: last eight server’s serial number digits.
  • User: root , password: FlexxConsole25!


Disk Provisioning

This appliance counts with four (4) disk slots for each node with HBA330 controller and six (6) empty slots if is necessary. System disks have a RAID1 with two (2) SSD M.2,  Boss-S1 Card Array controller manages this disks.


BIOS Configuration

The BIOS must have these settings configured:

  • Set correct date & time.
  • SATA controller mode: EFI.
  • Create a RAID 1 volume with 2 M2 disks on M2 Boss array.
  • BOSS-S1 Array Firmware version  2.5.13.3016.
  • Configure UEFI boot mode.
  • BIOS version 1.6.12.
  • iDrac: iDrac 9 Firmware Revision 3.21.26.22.
  • Hyperthreading enabled.
  • Set Fan to full speed.
  • iDrac IP addresses:
    • Node A: 192.168.50.53 / mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.50.1
    • Node B: 192.168.50.54 / mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.50.1
