Appliance Shutdown and power on

Hypervisor

This article will describe how to Shutdown and Power on your Flexxible|APPLIANCE.

Shutdown

You can shutdown appliance through Control Panel (recommended) or manually. Then we explain how to do it.

It can take some minutes depending on number of virtual machines.

Through Control Panel

Press ‘Shut down’ button and accept to confirm. This will shut down all VMs hosted in physical appliance and then stop appliance.

Manually

First, you need to connect through management console (Virtual Machine Manager Console, Failover Cluster console or HyperV Console) to stop VMs in this order:

  • Access level servers (Storefronts, NetScalers and others)
  • Backend servers
  • Flexxible|Orchestrators (Workers)
  • Flexxible|Web
  • Citrix Delivery Controller
  • Virtual Machine Manager
  • Domain Controllers

Also it's possible connect directly through OOB (iLO, IPMI or iDrac) and execute the following command:

Enter in powershell windows (if you are not)

Execute Stop-Computer

Power On

Once appliance is started, you must resume the paused node as shown below:

  • One node will be Paused.

  • Click on More information and Resume.

  • The two nodes must be Running.

Once appliance is started, Infrastructure VMs should be start. All VMs have startup priority configured through Failover Cluster Manager.

  • Domain Controllers
  • Virtual Machine Manager
  • Citrix Delivery Controller
  • Flexxible|Web
  • Flexxible|Orchestrators (Workers)
  • Backend servers
  • Access level servers (Storefronts, NetScalers and others)

If you have more servers and you want to configure startup priority you can do it without affect VMs listed before.
